*GUEST* Visual Vocabulary: Chimerical by John Saal
The first guest illustration comes from John Saal, who I work with at Untuck Design. We spend most of our days designing awesome stuff for clients, answering emails and talking on the phone, so I’m very glad he agreed to add “draw a word for Julie’s weird project” to his to-do list.
Chimerical: Existing only as the product of unchecked imagination; fantastically visionary or improbable. As in, “The chimerical creatures were so fantastic, so absolutely amazing, they proved perfect models for his illustrating adventures.” (You can click the image to see it in its full glory)
I love the wide range of crazy monsters here, especially the boy and girl angry Sam-the-Eagle “M,” the creepy used car salesman “A,” and the om nom nom “L.” Thanks again for the super fun illustration, John!
Visual Vocabulary is a project I created for myself in which I attempt to sear new words into my memory by illustrating them. I'm celebrating the one-year anniversary this week with some guest illustrations (hooray!)
