Visual Vocabulary: Miasma
Miasma: Unhealthy vapors rising from the ground or other sources. As in, "The tall people get to avoid the prevalent miasma in the tent at the St. Patty's day celebration; their height lets them rise above the stale bodily smells to breathe the clean, fresh air that is unavailable to the rest of the short Irish schmucks."
I ran into the word miasma last week and it immediately went to the top of the illustration list. Of course. Because I love illustrating other people's dyspepsia problems. And as a short Irish girl myself, I've always wondered if the tall people get to breathe the fresh air in the St. Patty's tent. Do they get to rise above the miasma of corned beef and cabbage being processed by everyone's intestines? I may never know, but I imagine they huff that awesome fresh air like President Skroob huffs the fresh air from Druidia. Tall people: if I'm wrong, don't correct me.
Visual Vocabulary is a project I created for myself in which I attempt to sear new words into my memory by illustrating them.
