Visual Vocabulary: Mawkish

Mawkish: effusively or insincerely emotional; mushy. As in, "I have a real aversion to those mawkish cards one finds at the drug store. My husband knows I'd rather receive no card than that tripe."

I would just like to say that the poem I wrote for this card is ENTIRELY fictional. Any resemblance to real persons, including husbands who may pass gas and/or wives who may find that sort of thing entertaining, is entirely coincidental. The fact that I can't stand these cards, however, is totally true.

Visual Vocabulary is a project I created for myself in which I attempt to sear new words into my memory by illustrating them.
